Students from P-4 and 5-9 attended "The Power of One"This performance is a series of role play and mimes to provide support for students in identifying and managing bullying. Bullying is seen as both physical and emotional and the older students also looked at cyber bullying. As you can see from the title there is a clear message of preventing bullying which begins with the individual and all it takes to stop it is the power of one, the power we have within ourselves. This message will be further reinforced by classroom teachers. The students will learn strategies to work on using the power within them, to maintain a safe environment.

Two fabulous victories to the debating teams Tuesday night! The Senior team of Morgan Oss, Meghan Rockley and Anna Bajema were impressive; captain Anna’s speech was outstanding. The Junior(year 9) team of Zoe Curtis, Steven Pittman and Justin Todd also celebrated their first win - congratulations to them. Thanks to Ms. Beauchamp and Ms. Robinson for the time devoted to adjudicating the other debates, too.

Thank you to Miss Williamson , Mrs Cerqui and Mrs Lessells for all their organising and to all the teachers and parents who helped set up and supervise the activities.

In the Senior section BTC came second by a tight margin with Morgan Oss representing the College with singular distinction; her speech was outstanding. The Junior section was won by Justin Todd, narrowly ahead of Melinda Ryan and Zoe Curtis, all representing BTC and demonstrating growing accomplishment as speakers. Even the junior speeches were 6 minutes!Thank you also, to Meghan Rockley who acted as Chair for the evening and Anna Bajema, her star timekeeping companion. As part of BTC's 90th Year Celebrations, the College hosted a Grandparents and Parents Day. Relations visited classrooms with their grandchildren and children to see how education has changed over the years. After a hard "slog" in the classroms they were treated to a delicious morning tea . Later, at the Assembly, some parents and grandparents reminisced about the "good old days". Mrs Robb even brought along a slate for her show and tell.Abby Duffin sang beautifully and Miss Lucy and Caitlin Bethal played a duet and entertained the crowd. Finally , flowers were presented to the parents and grandsparents who brought to life their schoodays through their reminiscing. An enjoyable day was had by all.
