Last term Year 1 and 2 students visited the Tropical Weeds Research Centre to study some weeds and some insects. They learnt a new word ......"invasive", which the students continually used for the day.The highlight of their visit was getting a "prize" when they answered the question correctly and seeing the insects under the microscopes.

Year 10 Work Experience

Most students were placed locally although some boarders got to work closer to home. After experiencing the workforce ,the students can now focus on their studies and subjects so that they are well prepared for their future career paths.

Secondary Interschool Athletics Carnival

The secondary students competed in the Interschool Athletics Carnival recently. Students competed with pride and determination throughout the carnival. The highlight of the carnival was the relays where team effort and school pride triumphed.BTC ran exceptionally well in the 14yr boys and girls. The boys came first and although the girls were first over the line by about 50 metres they didn't get a blue ribbon because of a disqualification. The last relay of the event was the Open Boys and they certainly finished in great style. The BTC boys exploded off the start and didn't look back. The supporters were on their feet cheering as the boys powered their way over the finish line to take first place. The individual achievements are too many to mention here. See the next BTC Briefing for Mr Gilbert's wrap up.Age Champions were Maddie Fox 13 Yrs Girls and Zac Santo 16 Yrs Boys with Runners Ups -Jane Wallace 14 Yrs Girls and Bridget Tully 16 Yrs Girls. Although placing 3rd in the Aggregate Trophy, BTC won the Goften Cup Boys Relay trophy.Congratulations to all competitors .
