Garden Party

After the Gala Ball, a few bleary eyed and weary bodies turned up early to start setting up for the garden party on the lawns in front of Thornburgh House. As the sun rose, more and more helpers arrived proving that old adage that 'many hands make light work'.The College grounds looked festive with balloons and streamers adorning trees and buildings. Patrons were entertained by talented BTC students and had a never ending array of food cooked and served by the hospitality students and helpers. There were plenty of coffee stations producing freshly made frothy coffee materpieces throughout the day.A fashion parade showed the changing uniform fashions of BTC with some current students appreciating their uniform a lot more after seeing some earlier uniforms. There was a cent sale, bottle stall, raffles and auction which provided a lot of laughs as people had bidding wars over objects. At the lolly stall there were cute gingerbread boys and girls wearing BTC uniforms. After the garden party was over people moved onto the oval to watch the traditional Old Boys Vs BTC 1sts Rugby League team. After signing up a few "honorary" old boys the team was ready to face the 1sts. As usual, fair play went out the door as the mature gentlemen enjoyed rubbing it in to their younger relations and of course vice versa.
