Yee- Hah Fantastic Excursion

Year 1 and 2 students visted the Horseshoe B Longhorns at Leahton Park recently. They had a fantastic time. Students were met by Mr and Mrs Bethel where they were told some information about the longhorns before going into the workshop to see where Mr Bethel made saddles and other leather goods. There they all received a leather medallion with their initial on it.After a delicious morning tea of home made scones, damper and anzac biscuits ,the students went on a ride in the wagon pulled by two draught horses ,Woodrow and Gus. They went to see some of the longhorns and marvelled at the size of their horns. Then the students saw the crush, the buffaloes , birds in the aviery and fed the fish in the wishing well. Finally they tried their hand at roping some "steers". While some did well others roped themselves more than the cattle. After getting a postcard and retrieving their initials in leather, the students thanked the Bethels for a great excursion. I am sure there would have been a lot to talk about the excursion around the dinner table that night .
