Primary Interschool Swimming Carnival

An excited group of BTC swimmers gathered at the town pool for the Primary Interschool Swimming Carnival. The overcast weather loomed and progressively deteriorated through out the day. The Open 100m was the first event with Madi and Lily representing the school well with a 2nd and 3rd. Sean and Daniel swam well in the boys event. Next was the 50m Fly which was a challenge for a lot of our students. Well done to Montana who competed in the heats with Casey, Jessica S, Georgia, Lily, Madi and Alex making the finals with Jessica S, Georgia and Madi scoring 3rds , Casey claimed a 2nd while Alex and Lily got the blue ribbons. Second event was the 50 m Back. Lauren, and Harrison swam well but just missed the final cut with Jessica S, Jamie, Lily (2nd), Georgia , Madi (3rd), Jessica B , Daniel , Alex , Katie (3rd)Sean (3rd) and Bailey competing in the finals.Breaststroke saw 12 swimmers make the finals with 3 first placings(Jessee, Lily and Madi) The final individual event had our 9 yr swimmers taking to the water. Mikalah and Connor swam well while Ronnie and Jack made the finals. With the rain pouring down at this stage it was getting harder to see the finishes but we had 11 other 50m Free finalists. When the thunder started the relays were called off. I think a lot of wet, cold swimmers (and supporters) were secretly pleased. At the end of the day we had Lily as 11Yrs Age Champion with Madi Runner-Up 12 Yrs and Katie Runner-Up 13 Yrs.BTC came 2nd in the Average Trophy and 3rd in the Aggregate trophy. Well done to all competitors under wet and cold conditions. Go It Blue.
