Southern Skies Netball Tournament

This year the BTC 1st Netball Team attended the Southern Skies Tournament in Brisbane, over the June/July break. During the week of competition we came up against TOUGH competition from all over Australia and New Zealand and South Africa. The games were very challenging. Over the week we gained much experience and picked up lots of new skills. Maddie Brown was chosen as a member of the All Stars Team from the competition. Not only did BTC leave with a lot of experience but we were awarded the “Spirit of the Carnival,” which really showed the team’s dedication and fairness. The" Spirit of the Carnival” is chosen from ALL sports, not just the netball competition. The Southern Skies competition is a combined tournament of Touch, Netball, Hockey, Soccer and Rugby Union. After our games we often attended events organised Southern Skies such as a cultural night and a dance party. The other competitors were friendly and all the girls made many new friends. It was a great experience and the girls and they were great representatives of the school. Congratulations are necessary for all players. Thanks to Maree and Cindy who made the entire experience possible.
