Tallebudgera Camp

Day 4. Up early ready to meet our coach to Seaworld. A cooler morning , jumpers were advised (on more than one occasion) but teenagers know best...... the day reached a top of 13 degrees. We were the first group to arrive which was good because we were first in to go to our Polar Bear experience. Here we got to see a female polar bear and heard all about polar bears from a keeper. We also got to touch their fur (a sample in a bag) and to touch a polar bear claw. Our next show was the seal show called"Fish Detectives" which was very entertaining with the seals involved in the slapstick comedy performance. Our last show was the Dolphins which was also very good. It was lunch time when it finished and some of us watched the Pirate stunt show while eating lunch. For the rest of the afternoon the students walked around Seaworld in groups where they visited displays such as the touch tank, penguin encounter, shark world with a fantastic underwater viewing area, stingray reef  and of course some of the rides such as Sea Viper, Jet Rescue and Viking Flume. Shopping was high on the agenda for a few student as well. I mentioned it was a cool day and a few students found Elmo jumpers for a bargain of $20.  What started as a few ended up an "Elmo Squad" touring Seaworld. It was easy to see them. Back home in time for dinner and to start packing. It will be another early start to head back to BTC tomorrow. See you when we get back!We have had a GREAT time.

Day 3. Slower up this morning but still headed to the beach for a game of touch footy, walk or sandcastle building before our activities.Today saw the students involved in evasion games (aka types of dodge ball), ball games and an iniative site where they had to use problem solving and team work to solve hands on problems in a set time. After lunch the teams swaped surfing and canoeing from yesterday. The surfers enjoyed the wet suits keeping them warm while the canoers got a little cool while going for an adventure walk in the water, looking for sting rays. Warm showers were very welcome when everyone got back to the rooms. After dinner we had ball games and 'Tallebudgera basketball' kept us warm. Then lights out ready for Sea World.

Day 1. What a start! Our plane was delayed by two hours .The only good thing was that while we were waiting at the airport the Cowboys flew in. The group had their photo taken with Matt Bowen, which could be printed in the Bulletin. The Cowboy players were very gracious giving our students autographs, photos and generally chatting with them. Finally leaving at 1.20pm another good thing was that Virgin gave everyone free use of the TV because of the delay. After having to circle once before landing we finally boarded our coach and left the airport at 3.35pm. because we were late there was more traffic on the roads than normal......so we finally reached Tallebudgera Camp at 5.15pm. We were shown to our cabins and had dinner, showers and made our beds up. feeling a little weary, we are now watching a movie before hitting the sack for a well earned rest
