BTC Girls Netball Confraternity

The Confraternity Girls Team flew to Brisbane with the boys then caught a bus to Caloundra, where the Netball Confraternity Carnival is being played.

Game 1 vs Chisholm Catholic College 14 -14
Started slow and were down at the end of the first half. We took a deep breath at half time and came out guns blazing to make up the difference. We were goal for goal and with 15 secs to go our brilliant defense kept out what would have been a winning goal for them.

Game 2 vs St Francis  17-5
BTC stepped onto the court ready for fair fight, what they got was anything but fair. Unfortunately we let our emotions get the better of us and St Francis ran away with the game. We will chalk this game as a learning experience.

Game 3 vs St Augustines 13-19
We started so strong and came out fighting, by half time we were in front by 2. After half time our lead started slipping as St Augustines team picked up the pace. We might have lost, but no one will ever say we stopped fighting.

Game 4 vs Mercy College 13-13
Another nail biting draw. Once again a huge "great job" must go out to our defense players. Mercy College came out fighting in the second half and the game was only saved by the deflections and intercepts made by Seiarne and Jemma in the circle.

Day 2 was an early start with our first game at 7:00am, Caloundra was very wet today and warming up outside was rather difficult. Aches and pains have been relieved with ice baths.

Game 5 vs St James College, Brisbane 17-21
The score doesn't do justice to how close the game really was. The girls fought hard with all players putting in a huge effort. We played our game and we did it well, it was only a couple of careless mistakes that let us down.

Game 6 vs St Ursula's College, Yeppoon 10-22
Our most disappointing game. We walked onto the court without our heads or hearts really into it. We let St Ursula's run away in the first half and couldn't reel them in after that.

Game 7 vs St Thomas More College, Sunnybank 10-8
Our first fantastic win! The team pulled together to produce their best game of the first two days. The defense held their own and the shooters were working the circle. All in all a great game.

Day 4

Wednesday was a rest day for the girls and we went to Chermside and had a day of shopping and catching up with the football boys, Thursday was Quarter and Semi-final games and we were all very excited to see Miss B there to cheer us on.

Quarter Final vs St Andrews Lutheran College, Tullebudgera Valley, 19-14
We kicked off the Quarter Finals in style, St Andrews put up a fight but with Miss B there to cheer us on the team fought even harder. It was a great win to start the day.

Semi-Final vs Mercy College, Mackay, 19-22
In the semi we came up against Mercy College, a team we had met previously. Last time we tied and this time both teams came out swinging. It was a great game but Mercy just bested us.
