BTC Netball Teams Victorious

The BTC 1sts and BTC Blitzers netball teams competed in the grand final games this evening in the Charters Towers Club Netball Competition. BTC Blitzers took to the courts first against CTSHS. Although CTSHS was very late arriving, almost calling a forfeit, they arrived in time to take to the courts before the end of the 1st quarter. These teams have had closely contested games in the past and although Blitzers started strongly, CTSHS came back in the second half to be only 3 points down. Blitzers played well and in the 3rd quarter and were up by 7. They continued to pressure CTSHS to be rewarded with the win 22-8. Player of the final went to Michaela Henry. Thanks to Mrs Cerqui for her GORGEOUS coaching.

BTC 1sts then took to the courts to play Purple Possee. There were a few nerves in the BTC team which saw Purple Possee jump to the lead in the 1st quarter and held it through to the 2nd quarter. After a pep talk by Coach, Alysha Hetherington, the BTC 1sts came out firing. They started to win some opposition ball and began to eat away at the lead. With a noisy cheer squad on the side to bouy them on, they were trading goal for goal by the end of the 3rd quarter with the score 18 all. 4th quarter and again the BTC girls came out firing. They won the next few ball to put  a handy lead of 4 on the scoreboard. Once they got their noses ahead they were not letting it go. final score was BTC 1sts 28- Purple Possee 23.  Morgan Williams had a great defensive game  while  Courtney Sheales has a great attacking and shooting game which saw her awarded Player of the Final.

Well done to all the girls . What a great result!
