After the arrival of the Class of 2012, Mr Fairbairn welcomed the Assembly.  Marble Mukurati offered a prayer to begin proceedings. The boys enjoyed belting out the Thornburgh College Hymn for the last time as students, before settling down to listen to reflections and words of wisdom from past College Captain Jonathan Crawley. Jess and Stella Batt entertained the crowd with Jess's beautiful voice bringing a tear to many an eye. Chairman Chris Hesp reminded the students to always remember their roots and their family as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. After singing the Blackheath Hymn, Vice Captains Melinda Ryan and Scott Cerqui adressed the gathering. melinda had everyone smiling with her accurate summary of each of her classmates while Scott reviewed highlights of the year. The entire assembly had their feet tapping to the final musical item by Ross, Callum , Ben and Mannie Tuiqali who made the trip up from NSW to send off his former classmates. Mr Wager provided the trumpet chorus and with Jess co-singer and Stella on the piano the effect was fantastic. Needless to say they received a standing ovation.

After the College Song, it was time for the formal  presentations by our three wonderful Preps- Thomas, Patrick and Kalys ,Mr Fairbairn and P & F President Mrs Cerqui. Finally it was time for the War Cry and then through the guard of honour to leave the College grounds for the last time as students.
