13 years boys had one win and one loss on the Friday but made it through to the finals to play CCC. This was the team that had defeated them 17-10. Saturday morning saw the team with only 9 players to field against the CCC team. The boys dug deep and played well to see the final score locked in at 5-5. With the winner decided by who scored first, unfortunately the win went to CCC. Great effort though, with Harry McQueen named Best and Fairest in the 13 years competition. 15 years boys also had one win and one loss on the Friday and also made it through to the finals on Saturday with them playing CCC. CCC scored twice before BTC fought back with a try of their own. Although BTC was hunting the try line on a few more occasions , the clock beat them with CCC running in 3 tries to BTC's 1. Best and Fairest for the 15 boys competition was also a BTC player-Allen Rau.
The Open Girls won both their games on Friday night with a massive win over CCC in the last game of the night.They met CTSHS on the field for the final on Saturday morning. Coach Max Batt's well drilled team scored first with the BTC crowd cheering loudly.The team went from strength to strength with every game they played to finish with a comprehensive win of 43-5. BTC picked up another Best and Fairest player with Merial Kenni claiming the medallion.
The Open Boys won both their games on Friday to go into the final on Saturday against CCC. This game always promised to be a hard fought game....which it was. CCC was hungry for the ball and scored first. BTC's Casey Henry scored a try out wide with Errol producing a great kick to claim the points. A good , hard game of rugby in which BTC went down 3 tries to 1. BTC wrapped up all Best and Fairest awards with Roy Fisher being presented with the Open Boys medal.
