Cocurricular Evening

Students, staff and family gathered in Blackthorn Hall for the Annual Cocurricular Evening of Presentations. Hosted by Mr Leo West, the audience were treated to video presentations, musical items from the BTC Vocal Group and the Year 10 Band.Primary Sports captain  gave his speech before Best and Fairest Awards were presented by Head of Junior Mrs Ferguson.. Primary Sportwoman Ainsley Thompson and Primary  Sportman Dorran Green, were congratulated by Mr Fairbairn. Bryce, Archie and Bacon  House had a three way tie for the Ann Millican Primary Girls Aggregate trophy, while  Black House won the T Ross Mckenzie Shield for Primary Boys Aggregate. Overall Primary Winning House was Archie Black.
Sports Captain Merial Kenni gave her speech before Best and Fairest Awards were presented to the Secondary School.
Swimming trophies were then presented by Ms Paganoni:-
The Shephard Cup  for all relays, including swimming and athletics was won by Archie  while Bryce took out the Tavasci Cup for champion breaststroke House. Bryce also won the Robins cup for Overall Aggregate for Girls Swimming. Madi Smith won the Alice Beale Perpetual Shield for Swimming.
For boys swimming, Black House won both the Dot Nibbs Trophy and Aggregate Shield.
In Tennis, the winner of the HM Clarke Cup was Bryce and AUF Industries Trophy was Dickson  with House Captains presented by Mrs June Ginns.
Ms Aitchison presented the Cross Country trophies with Archie taking the McQueen Cup  and Black winning the Past Student's Association Cup.
Rugby League's Aaron Campbell Memorial Shield was presented by Max Batt to Dickson while the winner of the Willmott Cup was Black.
Bacon took out the HM Clark Netball Cup which was presented by 1sts Coach Ms Rikki Bowden.
Mr McCartney presented Archie House with the J&M Worsfold Interhouse Soccer Cup and Black House with the Fairclough Family Shield for boys soccer.
Mr Bowden presented the Cricket Awards.Dickson won the Knuth Cup while Mitch Fogarty won the David Ross trophy  for the most useful cricketer.
Mrs Zoey Marshall presented the Athletics trophies. In the girls, Archie won all trophies-  Nocoleche Cup, Rossiter Cup and D&D Hardie trophy. Annie Luckman won the D.K.Benneke Trophy for most individual points. For the boys Black won the P&F Aggregate Cup while jack Donaldson won the most individual points.
Mr Norma Wallace presented the Duke of Edinburgh Awards to Bronze, Silver and Gold Recipients.
Music awards were presented by Ms Alyssa Priddle with Most Improved Performers going to Catherine Weicks and Kassity Knox ( Yr8-10) Selai Mautaia (Yr11-12) and Most Talented Performers James Smallwood (Yr8-10) Amy Neville (Yr11-12).
Kassity Knox won the Robertson Family Memorial Prize.
Drama Awards  were presented by Ms McAllister. Most Improved Performers going to Kiara Guligo ( Yr8-10)Amber Connolly and Dan Simatis (Yr11-12) and Most Talented Performers Kelsey Jones  (Yr8-10) Katie Williams (Yr11-12).
Debating was presented by Mrs Donaldson.  Kate McCullough won the Alice Patterson Memorial Prize for Junior Debating and Katie Williams the  Doug Patterson Memorial Prize for Senior Debating.

Ms Mc Allister presented the special awards,with co-winners of the Pat Lee Bursary for cultural achievement going to Ashlee Walsh and Catherine Weicks.  Jemimah Phillott  received the Beaty Landsberg Memorial Prize  for musical achievement.

Merial Kenni presented the students who have competed in every sport available at BTC, with All Sports Certificates .
There were 3 Undefeated Premiership Sporting Teams this year. Girls U14's Tennis, Girls U15's Softball and  Girls1sts Softball ( Go Girls!!!)

Performimg Arts Captain Katie Williams gave her report before the Street Talk video. Finally, the Champion Senior Sports People and champion Houses were announced.

BTC Legend, Harry Jackson presented the senior sports people their awards.
Junior Sportswoman of the Year was Jessee Santo.
Junior Sportsman of the Year was Mitch Fogarty.
Senior Sportswoman of the Year and winner of the  H &D Jackson Shield was Merial Kenni.
Senior Sportsman of the Year and winner of the A.A. Tait Shield was Bou-Dean Evans.
For The Houses;-
 The Norman Powell Memorial Shield for Girls Junior Champion House went to  Bryce House.
 The Anning Shield for Boys Junior Champion House winner was Black House.
The JE Bullow Memorial Shield for Senior Girls winner was Archie House.
The Daking Smith Shield for Senior Boys went to Black.

The last presentation of the evening was by Mr Fairbairn to the overall Champion House.
The Lily McMaster Shield for Champion 2015 Girls House was Archie.
The Logan Shield for Champion 2015  Boys House was Black.
