Secondary Interhouse Athletics

Secondary School students gathered on the oval to participate in the Interhouse Athletics Carnival.
There were many records broken in this carnival, with  16 yr Jessee Santo setting a fair share of them.  In the 100m  she took nearly a second off the 1979 record of D Turner to set the new mark at 12.60 and in the 200m also took the 1979 record of  D Turner of 28.9 to cross the line at 27.05.  In the long jump  she jumped 4.87m to break C Sheales 2011 4.7m and in the triple jump she beat her sister Zoe to take her 2007 record of 9.15m and leap to a 9.43m record.In hurdles the 2004 record ( 17.28) of current teacher B West fell to Jessee's 17.06 time while showing she is also a high jumper she leapt over  1.55m to take out the 1977 record of J Fitzhenry (1.5m)
Reagan Ernst set a new discus record of 13.39m, Tilona Ahmet threw 9.20m in the 14yrs shotput to better the previous record of 8.99m and Kiara Guligo claimed records on both the javelin -24.37m and the shotput- 9.32m. Toniesha Williams set a new record in the Open javelin 25.70m and Tenisha Soloman threw a 25.66m in the 16yrs javelin. Tarrisha Baira claimed a new record for the 15yrs shotput with a 9.24m throw. In the boys events Kodi Bolar threw 23.23m to claim a new record in the 12yrs discus.

Age champions and House points will be announced at Assembly on Monday.
